The event brought together over 500 leading participants, including top universities, research institutions, technology enterprises, financial institutions, and technology transfer agencies. The primary objective was to create an effective platform that connects both the demand and supply sides of technological innovations, fostering collaborative partnerships to help transform scientific advancements into practical solutions.

With a focus on fostering innovation, more than 400 cutting-edge scientific and technological achievements were released by some of China’s most prestigious institutions, including the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, University of Science and Technology of China, Sichuan University, and the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China.
These breakthroughs spanned a range of industries, from aerospace and intelligent manufacturing to pharmaceuticals, health, and low-carbon technologies, underscoring Chengdu’s commitment to becoming a leader in high-tech research and development. A significant moment during the event was the strategic cooperation agreement signed between Chengdu’s city government and the City University of Hong Kong. This collaboration aims to promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in Chengdu and to jointly build a platform for scientific and technological innovation. The partnership will also focus on attracting and cultivating high-level talents and establishing a fund dedicated to supporting innovation-driven enterprises and research.
In addition, Chengdu’s districts, counties, and county-level cities inked cooperation agreements on 17 achievement transformation projects with universities, research institutes, and enterprises. These projects span various emerging industries, including aerospace, artificial intelligence, and green technologies, reinforcing Chengdu’s growing influence in the global technology landscape.
Investing in Aerospace and Cutting-Edge Technologies
One of the standout agreements involved Xinghan Hangyu Technology Co Ltd, which signed a strategic deal with Chengdu’s Longquanyi district to build a reusable liquid-propellant carrier rocket headquarters. The project, with a total investment of 4 billion yuan (approximately $552 million), will focus on developing small, medium, and large commercial carrier rockets, along with liquid-propellant rocket engines. Duan Tao, deputy general manager of Xinghan Hangyu Technology Co Ltd, emphasized that Chengdu’s ideal innovation environment and government support were key factors in their decision to establish this project in the city.
Promoting Diverse Sectors Through Collaborative Roadshows
At the event, more than 30 research teams conducted roadshows to present their latest innovations. Areas of focus included intelligent manufacturing, digital information technology, green energy, and hydrogen fuel. One of the notable presentations came from Zhai Shaojian, deputy general manager of Chengdu Zhongkewei Information Technology Research Institute Co Ltd, who showcased their low-orbit broadband satellite terminal project. The initiative garnered significant interest from potential partners and investors, reflecting Chengdu’s thriving innovation ecosystem.
