Ambiq®, a leader in ultra-low-power semiconductors and Edge AI solutions, has joined forces with ThinkAR, a trailblazer in augmented reality (AR) and AI technology, to introduce AiLens, a groundbreaking pair of smart glasses designed to reshape the wearable tech landscape.

Weighing in at an incredibly light 37 grams, AiLens sets a new standard for smart glasses. With over 10 hours of battery life three times the industry average. AiLens ensures all-day usability, removing the common frustration of needing frequent charging and offering a reliable, long-lasting experience.

Powering the glasses is Ambiq’s Apollo4 System-on-Chip (SoC), built on the proprietary Subthreshold Power Optimization Technology (SPOT®) platform, and ThinkAR’s advanced voice-activated AR capabilities. The integration of these two innovative technologies offers a seamless, intuitive, hands-free experience, enhanced further by Edge AI to provide real-time, personalized insights for everyday activities.

    Key Features and Innovations:

    • Advanced Processing Power: AiLens boasts the Apollo4 SoC, featuring an Arm® Cortex®-M4F microprocessor, running at up to 192 MHz for exceptional processing of graphics, audio, and AI models, all while maintaining remarkable energy efficiency.
    • AI-Powered Personal Assistant: AiLens includes a smart, adaptive AI assistant that learns user preferences over time. By providing personalized responses, AiLens supports OpenAI and third-party APIs, offering a highly interactive and intuitive user experience.
    • Exceptional Display Technology: The high-definition display powered by the Apollo4’s 2D/2.5D graphics accelerator provides smooth, vibrant visuals that minimize energy consumption and reduce the load on the device’s battery.
    • Seamless Connectivity: AiLens integrates effortlessly with popular platforms such as Google, Microsoft, and other third-party tools, enabling users to access calendars, documents, and cloud storage instantly, right from their glasses.
    • Ergonomic Design: At just 37g, AiLens is the lightest smart glasses in its class, prioritizing user comfort and enabling prolonged wear without strain or discomfort.
    • iOS App Integration: A dedicated application for AiLens enables users to control the glasses, customize settings, and optimize performance with ease, providing a smooth, user-friendly experience.

“The launch of AiLens represents a transformative leap forward in wearable Edge AI technology,” said Fumihide Esaka, CEO of Ambiq. “This breakthrough in energy efficiency, performance, and usability offers a new standard in the AR glasses market, empowering users to enhance their daily routines effortlessly.”

Joe Ye, Founder of ThinkAR, added: “Our collaboration with Ambiq to create AiLens is a game-changer. With its energy efficiency, intuitive features, and cutting-edge technology, AiLens is truly a product designed for the modern user.”

AiLens is designed to serve a variety of industries, including healthcare, workplace productivity, retail, education, and beyond. Key applications include real-time language translation, workflow optimization, and seamless integration with health devices. For example, AiLens allows users to access health and wellness data directly from wearables and healthcare devices, facilitating better management of personal well-being.

AiLens will be available for purchase in North America, APAC, and Europe, with the U.S. launch slated for January 2025 and availability in APAC and Europe beginning in April 2025. The glasses will be sold through Amazon, SoftBank Japan, and other major online and offline retailers, ensuring easy access for customers worldwide.

With its blend of powerful features, sleek design, and intuitive functionality, AiLens is more than just a pair of smart glasses—it’s a powerful tool that propels the future of augmented reality and AI integration.
