The ANBERNIC RG DS Plus price has been officially confirmed at $94.99, with pre-orders placed in the first few days available for $84.99 via ANBERNIC’s official website. The dual-screen handheld goes on sale on 15 September at 11:00 BST, and for anyone eyeing that lower price, the clock is already ticking.

The sub-$100 retail figure is the headline number, and it is a sharp one for a clamshell device in the current market. Those prepared to commit early save a full $10 off the launch price, making the pre-order window worth paying attention to if you have been watching this one develop.

What the ANBERNIC RG DS Plus Spec Sheet Reveals

Beyond the price, the full specification picture is now clearer. Notebookcheck reports that the RG DS Plus carries a 4,000mAh battery with an advertised run time of 6 hours, which is a reasonable target for portable play sessions without constantly hunting for a charger.

The hinge design has been given some thought as well. According to Notebookcheck, Hall Effect sensors automatically wake the display when the lid is opened and trigger shut-off when the angle drops below 15°, which is a tidy solution to the sleep-and-wake problem that has tripped up cheaper clamshell designs in the past. The hinge itself opens to a maximum of 180°, so flat-table use is fully supported.

Connectivity is equally considered. Notebookcheck lists two microSD card slots and two USB-C ports in the spec sheet, giving owners genuine flexibility for storage expansion and charging or data transfer simultaneously. Dual card slots in particular are a welcome addition, sparing you the usual compromise of swapping a single card between different game libraries.

Colourways, Shipping and the ANBERNIC RG DS Plus Release Date

The ANBERNIC RG DS Plus launches in three colourways: Coral Pink, Matte Black and Metallic Blue, all at the same price regardless of finish. Buyers can also choose whether their unit ships from China or the USA, with the domestic US option likely cutting delivery times for North American customers.

The release goes live globally at 03:00 AM PDT on 15 September, which translates to 11:00 AM BST for UK buyers. European customers in Paris and Berlin are looking at 12:00 PM CEST, while those in Tokyo can expect the sale to open at 07:00 PM JST.

The device arrives in what has become a surprisingly busy period for dual-screen handhelds. The Retroid Pocket Duo and the Yoniq Duo have both surfaced in the same general window, each taking its own approach to the clamshell form factor. The ANBERNIC RG DS Plus is pitching itself firmly at the budget-conscious end of that conversation, and the $84.99 early-order price only sharpens that position.

A review unit is reportedly on its way to the team at Retro Game Corps, with coverage expected over the following week or two. For anyone wanting that lower pre-order rate, the 15 September sale opening is the hard deadline to keep in mind.
