Retroid Pocket Duo Specs Confirmed: OLED, 4nm Chip, and a Surprise Third Model

The full Retroid Pocket Duo specs are now confirmed, and they paint a picture of two very different dual-screen handhelds aimed at different pockets, with a third variant arriving shortly after to fill the gap between them. Retro Gaming Consoles revealed the complete specification lists for both the Pocket Duo and the Pocket Duo Lite on X, and the gap in hardware ambition between the two is wider than many will have anticipated.

Retroid Pocket Duo Specs: OLED Screens and a 4nm Processor

The standard Pocket Duo is the headliner. Its primary display is a 5.5-inch OLED panel at 1920 × 1080 and 120Hz, paired with a 4.5-inch OLED secondary screen running at the same 120Hz refresh rate. Both panels carry a resolution of 1280 × 960 on the secondary side. That is a meaningful step up from anything in the Retroid catalogue so far, and the processor underneath matches that ambition: a Qualcomm Q-7790 built on a 4nm process, with a CPU configuration of one A720 core at 2.6GHz, four A720 cores at 2.4GHz, and three A520 cores at 1.8GHz, plus an Adreno 722 GPU running at 1.15GHz. The Gadgeteer notes that the Pocket Duo’s CPU is an eight-core design with LPDDR5X memory support, which helps explain why the device ships with 8GB of RAM alongside 128GB of storage.

Connectivity on the Duo is properly current-generation: Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, USB 3.1 Type-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The USB-C port also carries DisplayPort output at 4K 60Hz, which opens up the handheld to television use. Charging sits at 27W feeding a 6000mAh battery, and active cooling keeps everything in check. The whole unit runs Android 16, measures 162 × 95.5 × 22.4mm, and weighs 350g. Whether that silicon translates to PlayStation 2 emulation at playable speeds remains to be seen once review hardware ships, but the underlying specification makes it a plausible target.

Retroid Pocket Duo Lite: A More Modest Dual-Screen Option

The Duo Lite is a considerably different proposition. Where the standard model reaches for OLED and 4nm, the Lite pairs two TFT panels, a 5.5-inch primary at 1920 × 1080 60Hz and a 4.2-inch secondary at 1280 × 960 60Hz, with a Qualcomm QCS6125 chipset built on an 11nm process. The Gadgeteer describes the Lite’s CPU as an eight-core Kryo 260 arrangement clocked at up to 2GHz, backed by Adreno 610 graphics at 950MHz. Memory options are 4GB with 64GB storage or 6GB with 128GB storage, giving buyers a choice depending on budget and intended use.

Connectivity drops to Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0, charging falls to 18W, and there is no DisplayPort output. The Lite still carries the same 6000mAh battery, active cooling, USB 3.1 Type-C port, 3.5mm jack, and TF card slot as its sibling. It runs Android 15 rather than 16, weighs 372g, and measures 158 × 95 × 23.2mm. On paper, 3DS and GameCube-level emulation looks achievable on the Lite, but a hands-on test will be the real arbiter of that.

It is worth noting that Retroid’s parent company also produces the AYN Thor, meaning the brand already has a stake in the dual-screen market it is now expanding with both Duo variants.

A Third Variant Appears: The Pocket Duo Lite Plus

Just as the two-device line-up appeared settled, Tech Insider reports that Retroid announced a third model, the Pocket Duo Lite Plus, on 20 September 2026, nine days after preorders for the first two Duo-series handhelds opened on 11 September. The Lite Plus slots between the two existing models in terms of specification and price: it uses the same Qualcomm Dragonwing Q-7790 processor found in the standard Duo, pairs it with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, but steps back to dual 60Hz LCD displays rather than OLED panels. It runs Android 16 and carries a price of $199 to $219, with a mid-November 2026 ship date.

That third option arguably makes the Duo range one of the more considered handheld line-ups Retroid has put together. The Lite handles the entry-level dual-screen buyer, the Lite Plus offers the Q-7790’s processing power without the OLED premium, and the standard Duo gives enthusiasts everything. Preorders for the original two models are open now.
