The Retroid Pocket Duo pricing is now fully confirmed, with Retroid revealing figures for not two but three variants of its dual-screen handheld, ranging from $149 up to $269 before early-bird discounts. And there is more in the pipeline than anyone had anticipated.
Retroid Pocket Duo Pricing Breakdown
The Pocket Duo Lite comes in two configurations. The entry-level 4GB + 64GB model carries a retail price of $149, with early adopters saving $14 on that figure. Step up to the 6GB + 128GB version and you are looking at $169, reduced to $155 on early-bird terms. Those savings come with a trade-off: the Duo Lite has slightly smaller displays and forgoes the full shoulder button layout of its bigger sibling, which makes it the sensible pick for buyers watching their budget without wanting to drop into sub-$100 territory.
The standard Pocket Duo sits at the top of the confirmed range for now, offered in a single 8GB + 128GB configuration at $269, with early birds paying $249. That is the only memory option available at launch. Transparent colourways are listed for both the Duo and the Duo Lite, though Retroid may charge around $5 more for those finishes, as they did previously with the Pocket Nova.
A Third Model Enters the Frame
What the initial Retroid Pocket Duo pricing announcements did not cover is a third device that has since been confirmed. According to Tech Insider, a Pocket Duo Lite Plus has been announced alongside the other two, carrying a standard preorder price of $219 with an early-bird option of $199 available using the discount code LITEPLUS. Tech Insider also reports that the Pocket Duo Lite Plus is scheduled to ship in mid-November 2026, giving it a somewhat later window than the base Duo Lite.
On that front, Tech Insider notes the Pocket Duo Lite began shipping on 17 September 2026, so the first units are already making their way out. The same source reports the Pocket Duo Lite carries a Qualcomm Dragonwing Q-7790 processor and dual 120Hz OLED displays, which goes some way to explaining where that price point comes from. Dual OLED panels running at 120Hz is not a specification you usually see at this tier, and it gives the Duo Lite a reasonable claim on the mid-range space rather than sitting awkwardly between budget and premium.
The Dual-Screen Market Heats Up
Retroid’s parent company also owns AYN Thor, which means the brand now has considerable reach across the dual-screen handheld segment. With three Duo variants priced from $149 to $269 (before the Duo Lite Plus lands in November), they are covering a lot of ground, and doing so at a point when competition is arriving from multiple directions.
ANBERNIC has announced the RG DS Plus, which is rumoured to be priced at under $100, pitching it well below the cheapest Duo Lite configuration. Then there is the Yoniq Duo, which remains a potential disruptor if it can bring something compelling to market. For now, though, Retroid holds a clear position across the mid-to-premium dual-screen range, with real hardware specs to justify the ask.
Emulation performance across all three models remains to be demonstrated in practice, but the hardware on paper, particularly those OLED panels and the Dragonwing Q-7790 in the Lite, gives dual-screen enthusiasts rather more to work with than vague promises.
