Arctech, a global leader in solar tracking and racking solutions, has marked a major achievement by signing a 1.5GW order for its SkyLine II single-axis solar tracking system with PowerChina. This order is for a solar project located in Al Ajban, UAE, and sets a strong tone for the company’s expansion into the Middle East market in 2025.

A Game-Changing Project for Clean Energy

The Al Ajban Solar PV plant, which is part of the UAE’s ambitious “Energy Strategy 2050,” is set to be one of the largest single-site solar plants globally upon completion. The UAE Energy Strategy 2050 aims to provide the country with zero-emission clean energy, marking a critical step towards achieving sustainability and reducing dependence on non-renewable resources.

This 1.5GW solar project will play a pivotal role in powering approximately 160,000 households. The sheer scale of the project will drastically reduce carbon emissions in the region, projected to lower Abu Dhabi’s annual carbon footprint by a significant 2.4 million tons each year. In addition to its environmental impact, the project serves as a milestone in advancing the region’s green development efforts and energy transition. It represents a massive leap forward in the UAE’s commitment to sustainable, clean energy solutions.

Arctech’s Continued Expansion in the Middle East

Since establishing its local operations in 2017, Arctech has expanded its footprint in the Middle East, establishing a service center, R&D center, two offices, and a manufacturing base. The company’s Jeddah Phase II manufacturing base is currently under construction and is expected to begin operations in 2025. Upon completion, Arctech will have the capacity to deliver 15GW of solar solutions locally, positioning itself as a key player in the region’s renewable energy sector. This significant capacity will ensure the company’s continued growth and solidify its place as a driving force in the Middle East’s solar energy market.

Arctech’s growing presence in the Middle East also includes a comprehensive service network that covers the full project lifecycle. This includes technical support, supply chain delivery, after-sales service, local operations, and maintenance capabilities. These services, along with their state-of-the-art tracking technology, enable Arctech to provide long-term, high-quality solutions to its clients. Through these initiatives, Arctech aims to ensure a seamless experience from project inception to operation while helping meet the UAE’s clean energy goals.

A Bright Future for Solar Energy in the UAE

Arctech’s 1.5GW order is not just a win for the company but also a significant step forward for the UAE’s energy transition. The successful deployment of this project will reinforce the UAE’s leadership in renewable energy in the Middle East. With its increasing local presence, Arctech is well-positioned to continue driving clean energy initiatives across the region, supporting large-scale projects and contributing to the UAE’s ambitious sustainability targets.

As Arctech continues to expand its influence in the Middle East, the company remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting the region’s renewable energy initiatives. With a robust local supply chain, increasing manufacturing capacity, and an extensive service network, Arctech is prepared to meet the growing demand for solar power in the UAE and beyond, while contributing to a cleaner, greener future.
